CATALINA ISLAND WEDDING FACTSMany different kinds of weddings and receptions are held here each year. From a couple renewing their vows on their second honeymoon with no guests, to elegant affairs up of up to 1,000 people at our beautiful ballroom or beach club. All hotels require a two night stay if you are including a Saturday night, unless it is the middle of January or February. Even then many things are going on and the two night requirement is in effect more often than not. Most large venues are booked on Saturday's from May thru October a year in advance, so you need to plan ahead. Friday is a great day to get married! Lots of availability at both large and small locations. Your guests can still come for the weekend with out missing work and can still arrive early enough to thoroughly enjoy your wedding. You will have the whole weekend to relax and enjoy family and friends after the wedding. Avalon does not have a sunset! We face east and have a spectacular sunrise. Consider a morning wedding. We have beautiful skies at twilight but the sun will not be going down behind you while you are saying "I Do". Catalina Island has wonderful private beaches that you can have a sunset wedding on. It does require planning and can be expensive to transport your guests to these beaches. Most of the hotels on Catalina have less than 50 rooms and do not have banquet facilities. But, most hotels, churches and reception sites are within walking distance to each. |
